New Beers – From Polly’s, Neptune & RedWillow Breweries
This past week we have had a number of new craft beers come into us here at The Beer Lab and today we are going to take a closer look at some of these. Included in these new beers are a range of fine brews from local breweries Polly’s Brew Co, Neptune Brewery and RedWillow Brewery.
Each of these breweries is fairly to local to us here at The Beer Lab and they each offer some unique and very popular beers.
New Beers from Polly’s Brew Co.
Welsh brewery Polly’s have gained something of a cult following amongst beer connoisseurs here in the UK. Every Friday, we manage to get their latest releases directly from them and we put them live on our website within a couple of hours on receiving them.
One of the new beers released this week from Polly’s is the Mylar IPA – this is a beautiful tasting and flavoursome India Pale Ale.
Its a textbook Polly’s beer – high juice, low bitterness and accentuated by a generous use of citra, mosaic, and sabro in the dry hop.
Expect a swagbag of honeydew melon, mango, tangerine, and pina colada flavours abound from the sabro.
6.3% ABV and available in a 440ml can.
New Brews from Neptune Beers
Neptune are a brewery based in Maghull, Liverpool and create some wonderful nautical named and themed beers that are popular both here on our website and also in our micropub. This week we have had a number of new arrivals from Neptune Beers, including a German styled wheat beer.
The Neptune Weisse is a German styled wheat beer that that is light, thirst quenching and offers hints of melon and mango when tasted.
It is best enjoyed consumed cold, straight from the fridge on a warm day. At only 4.4% ABV, it could even become your next favourite session beer!
Another new beer we’ve had come in this past week from Neptune is the ”Nelson Sails Again Pale Ale’‘ – this is a single-hopped New Zealand pale with gooseberry and grapefruit flavours, from the Nelson Sauvin hops.
New Beers from RedWillow Brewery
RedWillow are a Cheshire brewery, based in Macclesfield and have been creating some wonderful brews since 2010. This past week we have had a number of new beers come into us from them. This includes IPA, a Breakfast Stout, a Hazy Pale Ale and a Lager.
Shown in the pictures below are two of the new beers from RedWillow – the Perceptionless New England IPA and the Breakfast Stout. Both of the beverages have their own unique tastes and flavours and have been well received, both here on our website and also with customers who come into our micropub.
The Perceptionless is a naturally hazy pale ale that is fairly strong at 6.6% ABV, however it is easy to drink, not to heavy and goes down well. The Breakfast Stout has been referred to as ”dangerously drinkable” and it’s easy to see why. It starts with an assertive roasty bitterness from the dark malts, which quickly give way to a smooth rich dark chocolate and hazelnut finish. A beautiful stout – made with real Vietnamese coffee!
